Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Welcome to India! Meet and greet then private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Delhi
Tour of Old and New Delhi and see remarkable sites in both the traditional and new sides of India’s capital, including three UNESCO World Heritage sites: Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb. Among the other places you will visit are: Raj Ghat, a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques; Chandni Chowk, a 17th century market; and the Laxminarayan Temple, a large Hindu temple spread out over 7.5 acres. Day 3: Delhi | Udaipur
Morning flight to Udaipur, one of the country’s most romantic and picturesque cities, with its palaces, lakes, temples and gardens. After being met and transferred to your hotel, you will set off on your city tour. Some of the cities notable attractions that you will visit are the massive City Palace, the beautiful Jagdish Temple, and Saheliyon-ki-Bari, a garden with fountains, a lotus pool and marble elephants. Enjoy a drive around scenic Fatehsagar Lake before returning to your hotel. (B)

Day 4: Udaipur | Jodhpur
Drive to Jodhpur, stopping en route in Ranakpur, visiting the famous Jain Temples dating back to the 14th and 15th century. Continue on a drive to Jodhpur, known for its impressive fortified bastions. The evening is yours to stroll the streets of this popular tourist city. (B)

Day 5: Jodhpur
Morning half-day city tour of Jodhpur, starting with Rajasthan’s most impressive structure, the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort that rises more than 400 feet above the city. Explore its magnificent palaces with meticulously carved panels and latticed windows. Next, on to Jaswant Thada and the Museum housed in the majestic Umaid Bhawan Palace. The afternoon is yours to continue to explore and to relax in your luxury hotel. (B)

Day 6: Jodhpur | Jaipur
Early morning departure by train to Jaipur. Upon arrival, you will be met, assisted and transferred to your hotel. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan, also known as the “Pink City.” In the afternoon, visit the Maharaja’s City Palace Museum, and the well-preserved, UNESCO World Heritage site, Jantar Mantar or Astronomical Observatory, with the world’s largest stone sundial. In the evening, visit Birla Mandir for an “Aarti” prayer ritual – an ancient Vedic concept of a fire ceremony. (B)

Day 7: Jaipur | Agra
Morning ascent to the Amber Fort by elephant, a romantic Rajasthani Fort Palace boasting a perfect fusion of Mughal and Hindu architectural styles. Tour the exquisite interior and admire its intricate ivory, colorful paintings and mirror chips. Walk through the Chamber of Mirrors and Hall of Victory. After a brief stop at Hawa Mahal (the Palace of the Winds), drive by private car to Agra. En route, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, the perfectly preserved red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. (B)

Day 8: Agra | Delhi
Visit the world famous Taj Mahal (closed on Fridays), one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, built by Emperor Shah as a memorial to his beloved wife. The architectural marvel, constructed in white marble with semi-precious stones, was built by 20,000 craftsmen who labored for over 17 years. Later, visit the Agra Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage site. This 450-year-old walled city was main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty. (B)

Day 9: Departure from Delhi
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
