Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Peru! Arrival in Lima, meeting and assistance at the airport and transfer to your hotel where a bottle of champagne will be waiting for you in your room!

Day 2: Lima
Morning tour of Lima’s historic center, once the capital and most important city of the Spanish dominions in South America. Start your tour of this and a UNESCO World Heritage site at the Main Square, where you can find the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace and other historic and traditional buildings. Continue to the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, a 16th-century jewel that took 50 years to construct. Lastly, you will be driven to the Mercado Indio, a shopping gallery filled with stalls selling handmade Peruvian crafts and original artworks, an excellent place to do some shopping. At night, stop by one of the city’s most romantic places in Lima and late a delicious welcome dinner adjacent to the Pacific Ocean. (B,D)

Day 3: Lima | Cusco | Sacred Valley
This morning you will be transferred to the airport in Lima for your short flight to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, you will meet your guide and you will be driven to your hotel. The afternoon is yours at leisure, including one massage session your hotel’s spa. (B,D)

Day 4: Sacred Valley
Your horse riding excursion begins at a ranch in Ollantaytambo. From there, you will ride toward Pumamarca, en route you will enjoy a spectacular view of the Ollantaytambo archaeological complex and landscapes. Once you reach Pumamarca, you will visit the complex and then ride back to Ollantaytambo. A private picnic lunch is included. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Sacred Valley | Machu Picchu
Train ride to the city of Aguas Calientes then continue by bus to the Machu Picchu archaeological site. Your tour includes every nook and cranny of this UNESCO World Cultural site and one of the New 7 Wonders of the World, making for an experience you will never forget. You also have free time to explore the site on your own, relax or meditate. After your a la carte lunch, check in to your hotel where a bottle of wine awaits you as well as a 30 minute massage session. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Machu Picchu | Sacred Valley | Cusco
Morning at leisure in Aguas Calientes to enjoy the city and your hotel’s facilities. Later, you will board the Vistadome train back to Ollantaytambo where you will be met upon your arrival and transferred to your hotel. (B)\

Optional (not included in your tour fare): Return to Machu Picchu for a second visit. We recommend you climb to the top of Mount Huayna Picchu (2,490 meters). The trail is steep and parts of it include several section of stone staircases carved directly into the mountainside.

Day 7: Cusco
Enjoy a half-day walking tour of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. The tour begins at the Main Square and the Koricancha Temple, an old Incan palace and main center for the worship of the sun god. Continue to the neighborhood where the finest artisans in Cusco live and work. Next, visit the Inka Museum, located in an old Colonial period house, which exhibits how the city of Cusco is intimately linked to the Incan past. (B)

Optional: Andean Wedding or Vow Renewal
Celebrate a mystical and original wedding in the City of the Incas. Presided over by an Andean priest, the Andean wedding takes place on the grounds of the beautiful Llaullipata Reserve, with a breathtaking view of the city of Cusco.

Day 8: Cusco | Departure from Lima
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, to connect with your return flight home. (B)
