Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Quito
Upon arrival in Quito, meet and transfer to hotel. 

Day 2: Quito
Tour the city’s treasures, including many cathedrals and churches. Ascend Panecillo Hill for a breathtaking view of Quito and the Andes. Continue to the Middle of the World Monument. Afterwards, the day is yours. (B,L)

Day 3: Quito | Otavalo | Quito
Visit the colorful Otavalo Indian Market, one of Ecuador’s best shopping markets, filled with colorful ponchos, textiles, woven belts, hats, handbags, blankets, rugs and much more. Then proceed to an Indian village that is home to artisans and learn about their culture and daily lifestyle. (B,L)

Day 4: Quito | Galapagos Islands
Transfer to the airport for your flight to the Galapagos Archipelago. Upon arrival, board the 100-passenger M/V Legend. (D)

Morning flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, descend to Urubamba, the Sacred Valley of the Incas to visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo, renowned for its huge steep terraces. Later, stroll through the quaint streets and the colorful Pisac Indian Market. (B,L)

Day 10: Sacred Valley
Day at leisure in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Optional tours are available*. (B)

Day 11: Sacred Valley | Machu Picchu
Transfer to Machu Picchu. (B,L,D)

Day 12: Machu Picchu | Cusco
Wake up early this morning for the astonishing view of the sunrise over Machu Picchu – truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you would like to explore the second entrance to the citadel independently, motor coach tickets are included in the rates. (B)

Day 13: Cusco
Explore Cusco, the magical capital of the Incas, including the Plaza de Armas, the cathedral and the Santo Domingo convent monastery. Then continue to the nearby remarkable Inca Ruins of Sacsayhuaman and visit the Temple and Amphitheatre of Kenko and the red Fortress of Puca Pucara. Later, tour the pre-Colombian Art Museum housed in a beautiful colonial manor. Enjoy a special gourmet dinner of famous Novoandine cuisine. (B,D)

Day 14: Cusco | Departure from Lima
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima. Upon arrival, tour Lima’s historical center,  a UNESCO World Heritage site. See an extensive collection of pre-Colombian art at the Larco Herrera Museum, housed in an 18th-century colonial mansion. After dinner, transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B,D)
