Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Lima! You will be met and transferred to your hotel to unwind and relax.

Day 2: Lima
Morning tour of Lima’s historic center, once the capital and most important city of the Spanish dominions in South America. Start your tour of this and a UNESCO World Heritage site at the Main Square, where you can find the Presidential Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace and other historic and traditional buildings. Continue to the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, a 16th-century jewel that took 50 years to construct. Later, tour the Larco Museum, the world’s largest private collection of pre-Colombian Peruvian art, with more than 45,000 pieces. In the evening, a welcome dinner. (B,D)

Day 3: Lima | Cusco
Morning transfer to the airport for your short flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a tour of Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire. a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. The tour begins at the Main Square and the Koricancha Temple, an old Incan palace and main center for the worship of the sun god. Your adventure continues at the Sacsayhuaman Fortress built of enormous stone blocks, strategically located at the top of a hill overlooking the city. The tour continues with visits to three archeological sites which were important religious and administrative centers for the Incas. (B)

Day 4: Cusco | Sacred Valley | Cusco
Excursion along the Urubamba Valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, to visit the archaeological remains of the village of Pisac. The well-preserved fortresses, urban complexes, temples and Andean terraces built by the Incas, create an imposing and unforgettable view. You will visit the colorful market of Pisac, where you can appreciate a blend of color, tradition and local people showing handicrafts and local products. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to the town of Ollantaytambo, the most ancient and continuously occupied village on the American continent and the massive Ollantaytambo fortress. (B,L)

Day 5: Cusco | Machu Picchu | Cusco
Train ride to the city of Aguas Calientes then continue by bus to the Machu Picchu archaeological site. Your tour includes every nook and cranny of this UNESCO World Cultural site and one of the New 7th Wonder of the World, making for an experience you will never forget. After lunch at the famed Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, you have free time to explore the site on your own, relax or meditate. Return by train to Cusco for your farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Cusco | Departure from Lima
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima, to connect with your return flight home. (B)
