Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Welcome to India! After clearing customs, proceed to the Meet & Greet Hall where your driver will be waiting to assist you with a private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Delhi
After breakfast, depart on your sightseeing tour of historical Delhi. Highlights of the tour include stops at two UNESCO World Heritage sites: Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb (the inspiration for Taj Mahal) as well as the India Gate, President’s House and Parliament. In the afternoon, you shall be honored guests at an Indian home complete with a cooking demonstration and lunch. After this memorable experience, visit the Akshardham, one of the biggest and most intricate religious places of worship ever constructed. Return back to your hotel for dinner.  (B,L,D)

Day 3: Delhi | Agra
Depart this morning for the city of the Taj Mahal. En-route, you’ll visit a café that serves some wonderful snacks featuring a library that has been set up with contributions for those women who are the survivors of brutal attacks. The café has been set up entirely through crowdfunding as the campaign behind this initiative believes in the power of humanity. Dinner at your hotel. (B,D)

Day 4: Agra
In the morning, visit two of India’s best known UNESCO World Heritage site. Start at the Taj Mahal, which you will visit at sunrise when it is at its most alluring. After breakfast at your hotel, visit the Agra Fort, a 450-year-old walled city that was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty. In the evening, watch ‘Mohabbat-the-Taj,’ a series of plays depicting the saga of love. (B,L,D)

Day 5: Agra | Fatenpur Sikri | Abhaneri | Jaipur
After breakfast, drive to Jaipur, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, which was the political capital of India’s Mughal Empire from 1571 till 1585. Lunch will be served at Abhaneri Village Safari Camp with time to explore the village, where life continues at the pace with which it has been for thousands of years. On arrival in Jaipur, you will be assisted for check-in at the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 6: Jaipur
Begin your day with a visit to two more UNESCO World Heritage sites. Start at the Amber Fort, one of the most fascinating sites in all of India. Continue to the Jantar Mantar Observatory, which incorporates multiple buildings of unique geometrical forms, each with a specialized function for astronomical measurement. Later visit LAADLI, an organization that runs street-point education programs for the children of the street, imparting informal education for 2-3 hrs each day with a midday meal. At night you are fortunate to be invited to enjoy dinner with a local family who will prepare famous dishes from Rajasthani cuisine (B,L,D)

Day 7: Jaipur | Udaipur
After an early breakfast at the hotel, drive to the airport for your flight for Udaipur. On arrival, drive to Eklingi Temple which houses 108 temples chiseled out of sandstone and marble dedicated to Lord Eklingi (a form of Lord Shiva). At Nadga you’ll visit the ruins of the Vishnu, Shiva, Jain temples that reflect the great architecture of the past days. Lunch is served at an 18th-century palace transformed into a luxury heritage hotel. Later in the day, drive to Udaipur city. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy your beautiful hotel. Dinner this evening at Lalit Laxmi Vilas Palace.  (B,L,D)

Day 8: Udaipur
You are invited to participate in the morning yoga class at the resort. After breakfast, proceed on a city tour visiting City Palace, the largest in Rajasthan. This is followed by a private tour of the “Crystal Gallery” probably the largest single private collection of crystal anywhere in the world. Continue with a visit to the medieval Jagdish Temple and the Bougainvillea Art Gallery. In the evening, a special treat; a sunset cruise on Lake Pichola that not only provides the best scenic view of the lake and the mountains in the city but also presents some of the most important historical monuments dotted along the shoreline. Dinner at a restaurant overlooking the lake. (B,D)

Day 9: Udaipur | Jodhpur
Morning transfer off to Jodhpur, with a stop en-route to visit the Ranakpur Temples, a true architectural gem, built in 1439. Lunch will be served at the exclusive Mountbatten Lodge where you will enjoy lunch al fresco under the old sprawling banyan tree. (B,L,D)

Day 10: Jodhpur | Osian | Jodhpur
Begin your day by touring with a visit of the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, 400 feet above the skyline of Jodhpur. Later, visit the Jaswant Thada, a milky white marble memorial to Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. In the afternoon, drive to Osian, an ancient town in the Thar Desert. Later enjoy a sunset at the dunes. After sunset return to the Camel Camp and get ready for a farewell dinner with folk entertainment and cocktails. (B,D)

Day 11: Jodhpur | Departure from Delhi
The morning is yours to spend at your beautiful resort. Later, transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
