Itinerary

Day 1: Kuala Lumpur | Kuching
Fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, then private transfer to your hotel. Your afternoon motor coach tour includes the 130-year-old Sarawak Museum, Market place, State Mosque and Kuching’s oldest Chinese Temple. Next, depart for a pontoon river cruise including scenic views of the Astana, a palace on the riverbank that was the former residence of the White Rajah.

Day 2: Kuching | Batang Ai
Visit the Serian farmer’s market and a lush pepper garden. After lunch, continue with a longboat tour on the Lemanak River. Stop at a traditional longhouse, where you can visit an entire village set under one roof. Also, enjoy a blowpipe-shooting demo before transferring by boat to your hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 3: Batang Ai | Kota Kinabalu
The morning is yours to relax and enjoy the facilities at your resort. Transfer to the airport in Kuching for your flight to Kota Kinabalu, then transfer to your hotel. (B,L)

Day 4: Kota Kinabalu
Full day excursion to the Kinabalu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is one of the world’s most biologically diverse areas, with more than 4,500 species of flora and fauna. Drive through colorful and traditional Dusun villages. On arrival to majestic Mount Kinabalu, which at over 13,400 feet is Southeast Asia’s highest mountain, visit the Mountain Garden, home to a variety of lush flora. (B,L)

Day 5: Kota Kinabalu | Sandakan
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Sandakan. On arrival, transfer to Sepilok, and visit the world’s largest orangutan rehabilitation center. Here you can meet up close and learn about this endangered species. After lunch, transfer by boat to Sukau Village and check in to your lodge*. In the late afternoon, enjoy a boat river journey on the Kinabatangan River with its thick mangroves, wetlands, and rainforest with unique wildlife. (B,L,D)

Note: Accommodations at the lodge are simple, yet comfortable, with modern amenities, electric fans and solar-heated water.

Day 6: Sandakan | Kuala Lumpur
After lunch, fly back to Kuala Lumpur via Kota Kinabalu. (B,L)
