Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Sydney
Welcome to Sydney! Meet your driver who will take you to your hotel.

Day 2: Sydney
Tour Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, home to one of the world’s most concentrated collection of recorded Indigenous Heritage Sites, and its remarkably peaceful waterways. Board a catamaran at Akuna Bay, one of Sydney’s most exclusive and remote marinas, and explore the area. (B)

Day 3: Sydney
Early morning trip to the fish markets to purchase fresh seafood that will be part of your progressive, modern Australian lunch. Before reaching the markets, enjoy a hot breakfast along the Hawkesbury River. After shopping for, preparing and enjoying lunch, finish with something sweet before wine tasting at 3 handpicked vineyards. Later, return to Sydney. (B,L)

Day 4: Sydney
Take a 1-hour guided tour of the world-famous Sydney Opera House, applauded as one of the most exciting and innovative buildings of the modern era. The rest of the day is yours to relax and explore the city on your own. (B)

Day 5: Sydney | Alice Springs
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Alice Springs. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, drive out along the Western McDonnell Ranges to an aboriginal bush setting for a delicious, 3 course, Mbantua bush dinner. Dinner will be cooked in a bush oven or BBQ with the beautiful flavors of the mulga wood-burning giving extra flavor to the meal. (B,D)

Day 6: Alice Springs | Uluru
Morning drive across remote endless plains and experience the vast openness of Outback Australia. Visit Uluru, a massive sandstone rock formation. See aboriginal rock art, learn about aboriginal culture and walk trails to secluded waterholes. (B)

Day 7: Uluru
Day at leisure for an optional tour to Kings Canyon or join an Aboriginal Dot painting workshop. (B)

Day 8: Uluru | Cairns
Get up early to drive to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku – the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Once there, you’ll be served a morning beverage and an assortment of sweet biscuits. You can just relax and take a seat or wander around the viewing area in search of your own personal place to watch the sunrise. As the sun rises so too does the incredible birdlife that calls Uluru home. Listen as the birdsong welcomes the new day and experience the tranquillity of nature. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairns. The evening is at your leisure. (B)

Day 9: Great Barrier Reef
Travel to the Great Barrier Reef on-board an air-conditioned catamaran. Spend 4 hours at the outer reef. Use the semi-submersible vessel and glass-bottom boat to view coral reefs as well as an on-board touch tank to experience unique marine life up close. Snorkeling equipment is provided with expert instruction. Enjoy a tropical buffet lunch on board, including seafood, hot dishes, salads and tropical fruit. (B,L)

Day 10: Cairns
The day is yours to explore some of the unforgettable natural attractions in the area. (B)

Day 11: Cairns | Melbourne
Transfer to the airport, for your flight to Melbourne. A unique modern Australian dining experience awaits you aboard a tram car, carefully refurbished to provide all the modern conveniences you would expect of a first-class restaurant. (B,D)

Day 12: Melbourne
Travel through the tall mountain ash forests of the picturesque Yarra Valley to the Blue Dandenong Ranges. Stop for lunch at a local winery and dessert at a creamery. Continue to Healesville Sanctuary, home for over 200 species of Australian birds, mammals and reptiles all set in a natural bushland setting. You will have a chance to feed one of Australia’s native animals! (B)
