Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa
Welcome to the holy city of Lhasa! After transferring to your hotel, the remainder of the day is yours to relax and adjust to the altitude. (D)
Day 2: Lhasa
Morning visit to the Drepung Monastery, the largest of all Tibetan monasteries, notable for its magnificent white pagodas. Later, visit the 600-year-old Sera Monastery, housing a collection of original murals and precious scriptures. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Lhasa
Tour the imposing Potala Palace, former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. This UNESCO World Heritage site is considered one of the world’s architectural wonders and is the heart of prayer and pilgrimage. Then continue to the expansive Norbulinka, a masterpiece of Tibetan art, that was the summer palace of Dalai Lama; the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred and important temple in Tibet; and Barkhor Street, where you can experience authentic Tibetan life. Day 4: Depart Lhasa
