Day 1: Arrival in Santiago
Reception at the airport upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon walking tour around Santiago, visiting the city’s most outstanding attractions, including “Plaza de Armas”, the Cathedral, Ahumada Boulevard and the Government Palace “La Moneda”(outside). Then, by vehicle, visit the main avenues of old Santiago and up San Cristobal Hill, for a magnificent panoramic view of the city and the Andes Mountain Range. The tour continues to the modern part of the city, including its chic neighborhoods, shopping and financial centers.
Day 2: Santiago | San Pedro de Atacama
Morning flight to Calama, then settle in your comfortable vehicle and relax during the one-hour drive to San Pedro de Atacama, an oasis village fed by two rivers and surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. Arrive at your lodge, at an altitude of 7,920 feet, in the heart of the village, next to the village church, and just steps from the craft market, restaurants and shops. (B,L,D)
Day 3: San Pedro de Atacama
Four days of explorations allowing you to discover the ancient culture of Atacama, the diverse and unusual wildlife, and the natural landscapes of this vast terrain: from the brown of the Andean mountains and volcanoes, to the white of the salt flats and the green of the oases.San Pedro de Atacama is located at an altitude of 8,200 feet above sea level. Your explorations will enable your body to gradually become accustomed to the altitude, allowing you to get to heights of between 13,000 to 15,000 feet. If you wish to explore higher, group climbs with a maximum of eight people are available. (B,L,D)
