Day 1: Arrive in Copán
Cross the Guatemala-Honduras border and arrive at the pretty colonial village of Copán, a UNESCO World Heritage site. If Tikal is the New York of the Mayan world, then Copán is the Paris. Copán is the longest known and best researched Mayan city. (B)
Day 2: Copán
Morning drive to the archeological site at Copán, famous for its intricate carvings and amazing hieroglyphic stairway. Visit the Copán Museum which houses a selection of artifacts found at the site, including the burial of a scribe. Continue to the Museum of the Mayan Sculpture houses a full-size replica of the Rosalila Temple. After lunch, you are free to discover this charming city on your own. (B,L)
Day 3: Copán | Guatemala City
Day at leisure in Copán, or if you wish transfer earlier to Guatemala City where you will have time to explore and shop. (B)
Day 4: Depart Guatemala City
Morning transfer to the airport for your return flight. (B)
